Kyrie Irving Set To Retire

Kyrie Irving is currently the talk all around the NBA world, as the NBA is investing a social media post where he is maskless at a birthday party. Kyrie has missed the last 4 games, due to personal reasons. After the game against the Philadelphia 76ers Kyrie said his reason for not playing was "I just didn't want to play."

Stephen A. Smith was on First Take today saying that Kyrie Irving should retire. Kyrie's priorities are being questioned since he has clearly put basketball 2nd in his life currently. In these trying times, people are dying to find any work at all, while Kyrie is owed over $34 million this season. This is a terrible look for the NBA and Kyrie Irving.

Kyrie Irving's antics has been in questioned since he was with the Celtics, with today looking the worst it has since he began his career, due to the Corona Virus. The Brooklyn Nets could terminate his contract if he keeps this up, which if it continues they may have to look into. Kyrie may be without a job soon if he doesn't get his act together, or at least give us some reason for taking this much time off.

The Biggest Questions During This NFL Draft?

The NFL draft on Thursday will be unusual with the COVID-19 virus going on in the world. There will be a lot of issues that may arise throughout this draft. With the question marks with draft prospects, to just the issues with the internet that could happen this will be a must watch on Thursday night.

The biggest question mark of the night will be what will happen with Tua Tagovailoa. Tua has a lot of injury questions surrounding him, and with teams not being able to do physicals this could affect his draft. A team could potentially pull the trigger and take him early in the draft, the only problem is that if his career is filled with injuries than that GM will be fired. These GMs are fighting for their jobs, the amount of mistakes they can make in the NFL are less than in any other sport. In the NFL each season is valuable and tanking is typically not an option. There is potentially some teams that could fly their doctors out to meet Tua to give him a physical, but the odds of that story ever coming out is very slime. Every expert praises Tua, saying that he is as talented as any quarterback in this draft and if he didn't have these injury question marks he will be a surefire first overall pick. If Tua can stay healthy he might be the best player from this draft.

The other biggest question is the internet issues. In the mock run of the draft, they did experience some internet issues with teams that could make the draft last longer than expected. If a team experiences internet problems the pick won't just get skipped over, like how it did in 2003 to the Vikings. In 2003 the Vikings couldn't make a pick before the time expired, so they were forced to pick a later one and forgo it to the Jags, and then again to the Panther. Instead of picking 7th that year they went 9th.

This years NFL draft will be interesting to watch with the Tua storyline and the internet issues. Burrow will be the first overall pick and he will become a Bengal.

The Craziest Michael Jordan Story

Back in 2013, Michael Jordan's Hornets, back then they were called the Bobcats, finished the season at 21-61. The Bobcats finished 26th in the league and you'd figure there would be no real memorable moments from this team. Yet Michael Jordan proved he was still the greatest player of all time during this season. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was a 19 year old rookie during this time, when a 49 year old Michael Jordan played him one on one. Kidd-Glichrist lost the game to Michael Jordan and said that "It was hard for me. I lost. He's the greatest that ever played the game." There's a 30 year age gap there between the two, thats like you playing against your 50 year old father and losing the game that shouldn't happen. Jordan has been retired for almost 10 years at that point and still managed to beat an NBA player.

The Weirdest NBA Draft Ever

When people talk about the weirdest NBA drafts to date they will bring up the awful 2000 draft or the 2013 draft when the Cavs picked Anthony Bennett first overall. But this years draft could shape to be the craziest, weirdest draft of all time.

To just begin the season the top high school recruit in this years draft, James Wiseman, only played 3 games this year in college before decided to prepare for the draft. He had a suspension, due to the University of Memphis head coach Penny paying for him and his families moving expenses, which ultimately lead him to leave college. While other top recruits in LaMelo Ball and RJ Hampton decided to forgo college and playing overseas in Australia. LaMelo Ball also went ahead and bought his Australian Basketball Team. On top of all of this, the draft doesn't look that great with people comparing this draft to the 2013 draft, where the top players could go later on the draft.

The actual evaluations of this draft just got harder since March Madness just got cancelled. Now we will see what scouts actually are doing their jobs vs the ones who just mail in the college season and wait till March Madness and the combine. Without March Madness now we won't be able to see how the top recruits will perform in the biggest games of their lives, seeing if they will fold under pressure or if they will thrive in under all the pressure.

The 2020 NBA draft will be remembered as the wildest, weirdest draft of all time. We will see mock drafts be busted and people fall or rise in the draft like we've never seen before. If this years draft has no fans in attendance, then some teams will most likely take more risks in this years draft.

Is this NBA Season Over?

On March 11th, the story of Rudy Gobert testing positive for COVID-19 shocked the entire sports world, the events that followed next shocked the entire world. The NBA immediately announced that the NBA season will be suspended, for the foreseeable future.

Adam Silver said that the NBA season will be suspended for at least one month, the only problem is that with this pandemic we are facing, the news is changing everyday. Everyday the COVID-19 has shut down another state, the death toll is rising, and the entire world is trying to flatten the curve.

There was a report that the NBA owners and players want to salvage this season "no matter what." The NBA is exploring options that could have the season going into July, August, or even possibly September. Now with the season being extended the next question is how will this affect the next season? There is a growing number of owners and media members who wants the season to begin on Christmas, this will prevent the NBA from competing with the NFL for viewers and interest. The Atlanta Hawks CEO has already proposed this idea before the pandemic caused the season to be postponed.

Bill Simmons said on his recent podcast that Labor Day is quietly the secret day to look at during this time. The NBA doesn't want the Finals to compete with the NFL season, this could cause for the worst rating NBA Finals of all time.

NBA owner Mark Cuban said in a recent interview that he believes the NBA season will start back up on June 1st, while NBA Broadcaster Jeff Van Gundy is convinced this season is over. If the NBA season is cancelled it will cause a lot of problems and issues.

Someone like the Clippers will now have just one year to impress Paul George and Kwahi Leonard, who can opt out of their contracts after the next season. While the 76ers will make no drastic changes, giving Brett Brown another year as the head coach. The Warriors Finals streak is still alive, with there not being an NBA finals, and LeBron James will have missed the playoffs another year in his career, which ESPN analysts will convince themselves to use against him. However Knick's fans can convince themselves that this year wasn't a complete failure because they technically didn't miss the playoffs.

No one truly knows what's going to happen, thats a fact. If you want to know what's going to happen you're going to need someone from the future to tell us what will happen. From now on we need to listen to health experts and go from there. In my best guess I would say that the NBA season will continue in June.

The New York Knicks Biggest Mistake

In 1976 the NBA and ABA merged into one league, at this time the NBA acquired the New York Nets, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers. The Knicks were so upset about this merger, because now they will have another team in New York competing with them in their own league, that they demanded the Nets had to pay out a $5 million indemnity payment. The New York Nets owner, Roy Boe, couldn't afford the payment at the time, so he offered the Knicks Julius Erving for the payment. The Knicks turned this offer down and this move would be called the biggest mistake in franchise history.

Ultimately the Philadelphia 76ers would buy Dr. J's contract for more than enough money to pay off the Knicks. Roy Boe would go on to say "The merger agreement killed the Nets as an NBA franchise. …The merger agreement got us into the NBA, but it forced me to destroy the team by selling Erving to pay the bill." The next season the Nets would go on to finish a league's worst 22-60 record, this would force Boe to take the team back to New Jersey and rebuild.

The NBA Next Breakout Superstar?

In today's NBA we are often looking for the next story of triumph and success. We are often waiting and debating about who is going to be the next breakout player. Last season it was Pascal Siakam, of the Toronto Raptors. This year it is quite easily Devonte' Graham of the Charlotte Hornets.

Graham isn't being talked about nationally because of how little attention the Hornets receive. They only play 3 games on National TV this year. Anyone who has kept up with the Hornets at all should know that they've been impressive, compared to the expectations that were set for them before the season started. They are currently 8-13, currently sitting in the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference only one game back from the 8th seed.

Devonte' Graham has been quite impressive this year scoring 18.2 points, 7.4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds. To put this into comparison last season Graham averaged 4.7 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 rebounds. Last season Graham only played 46 games and had 3 starts, this season he has played in all 21 games and has started in 11 of them.

Graham has been quite impressive for the Hornets so far. Graham has lead the Hornets in points and assists, and he's second in 3 point percentage. Graham has lead the Hornets into a possible push for the playoffs. He truly is the breakout star this season, but only time will tell when the National Media coverage will catch up to it.
